The house looked like a bomb had hit it, I was exhausted and the kids were wild but the brownies smelt good and suffice to say they were beckoning to me.</p><p>This moment perfectly illustrates the complexity of our relationship with food. Food is comfort, connection, culture, and celebration. It's also — as Hippocrates understood — our most powerful medicine.</p><p><strong>The Good:</strong> Whole foods, plants, quality proteins — foods that nourish, energise and heal.</p><p><strong>The Bad:</strong> Ultra-processed foods, excess sugar, refined carbohydrates — foods that deplete energy and promote inflammation over time.</p><p><strong>The Downright Ugly:</strong> Guilt, restriction, and the war we wage against ourselves over what we eat. The shame spiral after eating something 'bad' is often more harmful than the food itself.</p><p>The goal is not perfection. It's awareness, balance, and a sustainable, loving relationship with the food that fuels your one and only body.</p>
